Day 18-Free Ride

6x6 oil on gessobord
$100+$8 shipping

More Wyoming Buffalo...I didn't even see the little bird on his back until I got home and looked at my photos. I wondered about calling it 'Friends' but decided that 'Free Ride' fit it too. I love the buffaloes! They are so majestic, and carefree!

While we were in Wyoming we saw Buffalo everywhere! They were just standing around grazing as if they didn't have a care in the world. Such big awesome animals!

Summer Time

I took this photo in Plains a couple years ago.  The Hollyhocks
were so pretty growing up around the mailbox. I really didn't
know what to name this so decided Summer Time would be ok.

Day 15- My Garden Chair

6x6
My Garden Chair
Oil on gessobord
$100 +$8 shipping

I have this old patio set, and I just love the rusty white
designs.  I did a large watercolor of this a couple of years
ago and it got in SWS watercolor show.  I am not a flower painter
and this was a double struggle! But hopefully I am learning more and more.

Day 14-Fredericksburg,TX

Fredericksburg,TX
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 + $8 shipping

I work a lot of the time from sketches, and I had this sketch on
my iPad.  I was trying to figure out how to fix the iPad where
I could see the sketch and I have a (Sonic) card board carrier that I have been
collaging...to carry art supplies in. It fit on the top perfectly!  When we were
in Wyoming the artists had some sort of string or rope that hung their iPad
from their easel.
The Panel holder is new, got it this week, and I LOVE it! it holds
those little panels perfectly. So now I have 2 new studio helpers. Now I want to
finish decorating my cup holder!

When we were in Wyoming in September we saw this awesome
fence, and it was lined with black birds! They were really having
a great reunion! I have sketched this a couple times, plus I did
an IPad drawing, and used the sketch to work from.

Between Plains and Brownfield, TX is a little community
that has turned into a ghost town.  It is Tokio, TX.  A very
sentimental place for many of the residents in Plains.
We drive through there every time we head to Lubbock.
It is so sad to see the old buildings falling down.  My favorite building'
was the Post Office, and it is now gone.
The Store, School and Baptist church is falling down too!
I have painted them all at some point in time. I took pictures back in
the 80's as I passed through taking the kids to piano lessons, and now
I am so glad that I did!   My Grandparents who would be over 100 now,
spent a lot of time in Tokio at 'Play Parties' where they danced and visited.
I love old nostalgic things, and their memory needs to be preserved
someway even if it is just on a small piece of board.
