Wyoming trip

Our first day in Dubois was amazing we got some beautiful shots of the Tetons but the snow was gray due to ashes from fires. It is so beautiful here.
We had an awesome experience at the welcome dinner , met some great artists.
Am so excited for tomorrow to get started.

Wyoming Workshop September 15-20

Early Saturday Morning, I will be heading to Dubois Wyoming for a Plein Air workshop and am so excited to get to go!  I signed up for it in February, and have been planning and thinking about it ever since. I am meeting up with 5 artcolony artists, so we will be together. When it is over on Friday, some of us are staying a couple days to go to Yellowstone and the Tetons, then fly home on Tuesday.
The workshop starts Monday and goes through Friday. They have a lot of things scheduled for us.
Carl Purcell will be the watercolor instructor, and David Rankin will do a 3 hour class on iPad art, so I will be in that too. One night we will go to a ranch for a pig roast and horse back riding. (I wont be due to my back) I hope I can post something each night, but it depends on how tired I am by the time bed time comes.  Also I am hoping I get lots of good photos to work from when I get home. The hard part is packing enough stuff for a 10 day stay, plus art supplies.
There is a miniture art show, and a silent auction.
Roll out the Barrels, and Old Yeller are my show entries, and the Wyoming Boot is for the silent Auction. I worried about what to take but decided to do this collage, using a Wyoming map for the background.

North Light books new Book

I am so excited. The North-light book I got in is ready. I haven't gotten my copy yet but it is ready to be ordered.
I haven't seen it yet but I am supposed to have two collages in it. (I won't really believe it till I see it )
They are on sale now if you decide you want one. I don't make anything off of them. I just get one free one. But am so honored to get to be in it.

Here are two links, One with North light and one with Amazon

In Honor of 9-11

We all remember exactly what we were doing on September 11, 2001. I was in my art room early that morning when I heard about the tragic events on the radio.  In October I went with our disaster team to New York to help out. It was an awesome experience.  I am so thankful I got to go.  I now have one of my dearest friends from that trip.  Lola Douglas.  She and her family lived there at the time.
She brought us fresh flowers every night for our tables. I truly believe something good can always come from something bad. Sometimes we have to search for it, and it might take a while to find it.
I am thankful for her friendship and the opportunity to help a tiny bit.

We saw this building somewhere in '02 and I dug it out and sketched it in a sketchbook.  Then I sketched it on my iPad.  Am not sure which I like the best .  The iPad sketch is more vivid.

Another iPad Drawing

This was a building in Fredericksburg Tx. I took the photo  in 2002.  Drawing on the iPad is a challenge but am keeping on. Still prefer my pen!
