This Week's Sketches and Collages

I have been busy this week, with some sketches, and a couple of collages. The first one is done with a sketch and wash pencil. It is a 1947 Hudson Pick up.
The 2nd one is 'Ol Blue' and it was Kens Pick up for years.  He named it and it stuck. It is parked with all our equipment, and is grown up in weeds. It has a lot of memories for us.  Especially the kids. I sketched it with a fine tip Sharpie.
 The 3rd one is from a photo I took in Seattle on our way to the 'Locks'. It is pencil.
Cotton Collage is just a 5x7, I did for fun. The Wyoming Boot Collage was because I needed  something for the silent auction for my workshop in Wyoming so I collaged it onto a Wyoming map.  The last one is an old station wagon jeep called 'Prairie Rose'. Sketched with my Lamy fountain pen.  I took the photo in Fredericksburg in 2002. I have two more that I am saving back. Will post them soon.

Woven Miniature Barn

I was working on some mini's for my trip coming up in September, and did this barn over from a large demo. it is 4x6 and I framed it 8x10. This has a new color, Horizon Blue, which I think I am going to really like.

Old Yeller

I found this old truck in Brownfield, TX and had to stop and photo it! It was orange and caught my eye going through town.  I intended for mine to be orange-y but it ended up yellow, and I liked it!
It is only 4x6".

Roll Out the Barrels

When I was walking the other day, I found some old barrels behind the barn, and there was so much color in them, I just had to do a painting of them.  The weeds (flowers) have all grown up around them. I am trying to get some miniatures done for the workshop in September.
This will be 8x10 framed.

No Where but Texas Art show-Dallas TX

Blogging on your iphone or ipad

I wanted to be able to check my blogs or write a post and always had to go to my computer.  I have a blog that would not come up on my iphone or ipad.  I accidentally found the blogger app. It is awesome. When you go to it all your blogs are listed and you can switch back and forth and do new posts. You don't have to type in the address.  Y'all  may already know about it but in case you don't I wanted to share it. It is orange with a white B if you search for it. Just called Blogger.

It is free. I just think it is awesome that we can blog from our phone, but then I am an electronic nerd,

I love all of the technology that we have at our finger tips!

I really prefer using my computer but this is handy for quick posts or commenting. 

I also thought it would be handy on art trips.  I have one coming up I am really excited about so hopefully there will be a few posts from Wyoming. 

  I am adding my new bag I got this past week at Harbor Freight Tools place to put my art/sketch stuff in it 

Is the one Brenda Swenson ( www.brendaswenson.blogspot.com )recommended.  It is a little heavy but think it will work out good.  I sprayed it on the bottom, inside and out to protect it ,hoping it wouldn't get too dirty dragging it around. 

More Sketches from Cabo

I am going thru our photos and sketching some fun things. There were skeletons every where we went. There will be more later. I was so surprised that our American flag flew high along side their flag. We had breakfast in our room every morning. And I took photos of all our meals. 

And there is the funniest story ever about the gecko in our room.
