Tokio Texas Post Office

This is also an older painting.  There is or was a little community between Brownfield and Plains TX called Tokio. There was a church, Post office, school, and 2 stores.  Every time we went to Brownfield we passed this old wonderful post office, and one day I stopped and got photos when the wind and sand was blowing so hard.  I am so glad I did, because it has been torn down.  I am still sad about it being gone. All the buildings are falling down. Is so sad to see such a wonderful little community close up.
This painting was poured. I stared with yellow, then the blues, and reds, and it just came out cold and dreary so I turned it into a snow scene.

I so hate seeing the loss of such historical places too. We lose so much in the name of progress and in people moving to where there is work. I think this is a beautiful painting, Suzy. I love the wintery feel too.
