A New Year!
We survived 2020 so we are already halfway thru January. We got our COVID vaccine last week, so we are waiting for the 2nd round. I have done some gouache portraits.
I have figured out that you put down the first couple of layers like it’s watercolor. Then you can go thicker as you apply paint. Your worst enemy in my opinion is drops of water from the handle of the brush, especially if you have several layers however you can take a damp brush and work on the edges and it fixes it [
I did the first one then I needed to practice because I was going to Demo it so I did the one with the eye chart then I did the one with the blue shirt for the online demo.
I did the clown using the gouache too.

Summer Time
Living on the farm makes you realize how much you need and love tractors! The sound, the smell, the memories! Not to mention we have John Deere tractors. What a wonderful life it is on the farm, even in the really hard years you still love it. We live on the Powell Family farm, and live in the farm house that was put here in 1954. I have loved living here even though I wasn't raised on the farm. It has been a wonderful life raising our 2 kids!

Memories of our Mom's
This painting makes me think of my Mother and Kens Mother. My mom sewed all the time
as did Ken's Mom but Kens did a lot of cut work embroidery. This was poured with liquid acrylic.

Live Your Passion
I found the quote "live your passion' and it made me think of all the farmers I know. They are so passionate about their land, equipment, and their crops.
This is done with torn/cut paper from magazines. It is 12"x24" on a stretched canvas. It is available for a new home!
