Summer Fence

Last year while driving around in Myrtle Beach, we found a house with this beautiful fence covered with flowers. This is 9x12 Acrylic, but am not sure about the acrylics yet. They are messy, and you have to keep putting them out, and I had it all over me! I still love the transparent Watercolors and the collages. I really love oil paintings where all the brush strokes show, and so that is why I was trying the acrylic. I am allergic to Oil paint.

Keep at it, Suzy! You will grow to love acrylics! They make me smile. They are so versatile, fun and adaptable to anything/everything you want to do with paint! They can act like watercolors or oils, or be their very own unique medium. Stay and play! Your piece shows you will be just fine with them!

thanks Dee! I appreciate any help you can give me...what kind of brushes? some of my just GLOP the paint on, then I have to go back and fix it. the brushes i have I can't do any detail. which is not all bad.
i want the brush strokes to show, etc.
I will have to do some more to really know if i like it. I made such a mess...watercolors are much neater!

Suzy you need to put out lots of paint on a palette that you can keep damp. If it dries on your palette use it in your collages. Want to keep same paint for awhile, cover & put in Fridge.
you probably already knew this but just in case. Also you can use pill boxes to put your color in & put it in Fridge in plastic baggie & will last a long time. I had one cool box & another for warm color. Hope this encourages you to try some more. Looking good. Good luck

thanks Linda, I did know to put it out on a wet paper towel, etc.
that wasn't my problem. it was mainly needing more and more. Having to keep putting it out! also not knowing what brushes to use! i will dig out some of my acrylic books the next time I start one!
I appreciate your taking the time to help me.
