The Cowgirl

This was painted from one of the photos I took back in April,
at our neighbor's branding.  This cowgirl is 14 and she was working
as hard as the men. roping and flanking the calves. I was impressed with
her knowledge! Her little sister was working along side her notching ears.
It is a long time family tradition and I was so excited to get to be there and
watch and photo.

Oh those poor calves/cows...it sounds like such a painful experience for them. Love this girl's cowboy boots!

I totally and truly enjoy our art. Love the horses like I do I have always asked myself why I do not paint them. I think I'm afraid. You did yours so amazingly. bravo!
