Wyomimg Watercolor Society

I am excited to be accepted in the  33rd annual Wyoming National show.  The show is in Sheridan Wyoming in August.
Saddle Shop and Black Buick will be in the show. The saddle shop was poured watercolor and I didn't like it so I went back and painted it with gouache.  I am surprised it got in because of the darkness.   The Saddle Traders Shop is in Post Tx.
The old car was on the highway near Canyon TX. It was all grown up in trees and weeds. It was a beautiful old car. No telling what stories are hidden away in it!!

Still Waiting

This old car is close to Hereford, TX. I saw it months ago on the way to a funeral and couldn't stop.  So the next time I went, I kept watching for it so I could stop and get photos.  It had a road down to it, so I went down and got some photos.  The train started squeaking and barely moving, and I decided I needed to get back on the highway since I was alone. It was a little spooky!
I found out later, one of my students in Amarillo owns this car! I can't believe it just sits there all alone...for years it looks like.  I love the look of it with the train and the graffiti.
It is 22x28 framed.

New Sketches

I have been doing some more sketches. I signed up again for Sketchbook Skool, Story telling but I haven't had a chance to do my home work yet. The first sketch is a little bear and daisy set up that we used in my class last week.
The Black Bird was in our pasture and I zoomed in and got his photo.
The hay bales are our neighbors. I went down today after lunch and sketched in the car. I loved it. It was such fun!
The last one is T-Bone, our daughter dog last winter in the snow in his new hoodie. he was just a fun little sketch!
The last one was in our Rodeo Parade in July.
Love those old cars!

Fair Weather

Another old vehicle, painted all light! That's why it is named 'Fair Weather.'  This is just pure watercolor carefully put down on plain paper, then after dry, the car drawn onto it.
I tried to leave as much white as I could, just having some colors. This is not an easy way for me to paint!
It took some control! I wanted this to be a Happy go lucky car trip!

Old Rusty

 Old Rusty
16x20 framed
This has always been one of my favorite old paintings for some reason!
I can't remember where I got the photo, it has been that long ago that I took it! Anytime we go anywhere, we stop for all old vehicles! Ken is great about stopping, backing up, or turning around!

1940 Buick Special

I found this old car in Lovington, NM several years ago and am just now painting it.
It is done on hot press paper, w/ collaged phone book pages, drawn with charcoal, then painted with gouache. It gives it a neat texture. It is always a challenge, because you don't have a clue how it will work out.  Is always fun to keep learning new things, new techniques, and different ideas!
This will be 11x14 or larger matted and framed. It is available.

New Interior

Here is another Steering Wheel painting. I love looking in these old vehicles. I have a couple more that I plan on painting. This was an old car that I found at the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The Red and White interior really grabbed my attention, so naturally I had to take pictures while nobody was around. This is transparent watercolors with a little bit of white gouache.
The image size is 14x18.

Christmas Memories

I found this old car in Lubbock, TX, and thought it would make a nice card.
This painting was poured, using red, blue and yellow. I used miskit on the tree limbs, and top of car and part of the snow on the ground. It was done a few years ago, but I always have fun dragging out some of my favorites. This is what it looked like here during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We don't normally have a white Christmas and it was beautiful.

Lubbock Arts Festival

The West Texas watercolor society always paints small works to sell.  This is a wonderful art get together. It is coming up in April.  thi...
