Grandmother's Porch

This is another poured painting.   I did this same painting years ago and wanted to try pouring it.
It takes some thinking to know which to pour first, what to cover up, etc. When I got ready to remove the miskit, the whole sheet was covered.
It is a little larger than 1/2 sheet.

Frameable Original Art-Calendars for Christmas

I decided to have some calendars made with some of my images. You should be able to frame them after the calendar is outdated.  Each month has a different image.  They are $20 + S&H  If you are interested I need to know as soon as possible so I can get them on time for you. I have Flags, Western Art, and Old Vehicles.
The Deadline on ordering these is December 15th to get them in time for Christmas

Memorial Day Sketches

While trying to get another class together, I decided we would do something in honor of Memorial Day since it is coming up. These are all sketches from my flag album. Every time I go somewhere, I take photos of flags. All but one is done with the Tombow and Elegant Writer and Ink.
The top left photo was from somewhere in NM,
The top right, 'Ruidoso', is drawn with ink and painted. The middle 'Thank You' is from a photo in Hobbs, NM. and it says it all.  A friend and I went to a Memorial Day Parade, many years ago, and that was the  home-made sign in the barber shop window.
The bottom left 'Freedom of Religion' is a church from somewhere, and the last ' Home Sweet Home'  is a house from somewhere.  I don't always remember where they came from.
I am so thankful for all of our veterans.

Flag Day

"Calm Day'

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the
republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all."

Today is Flag day! June 14th. Our flag is very special to me. I love to see it
waving ! It has a lot of history behind it! When it is folded each fold means something specific. There isn't enough room here to add it.
One of the most somber things is to see it being folded at a funeral.
We have seen it twice in my family, and you never forget it.

I am sure there are a lot of stories about our Star Spangled Banner! How it brought comfort, joy, sadness, hope, etc. When Ken was in Navy boot camp, he said he would never forget the feeling he had when he saluted the flag with his gun.

This painting is 12"x30" and is done in gouache, on watercolor paper.
