Sketchbook Skool Week 3

I missed out on week 2 because of the trip to Atlanta, so I will do it when the 6 weeks is up.
I thought it would be easier than to be behind everybody each week.
This lesson was with Brenda Swenson, and drawing continuous contour lines. We weren't supposed to pick our pen up but is very hard not to. We were supposed to pick 3 objects for the first try, and I ended up with 4 on one. I decided to go with girly things and it was fun. I loved doing this type of drawing because I like 'lines' in my drawings. They are a little wonky and crooked but it gives them character...maybe.

Atlanta market-artist signing

I have some of my collages licensed and I got to come to Atlanta to sign copies of my VW collage. It was such fun. A great experience. Keri came with me, and we stayed over a few days.
While here I found out that Coffee City USA was here at market too so we found them. I did some art for them several years ago and he had his coffee samples there too! It was exciting to have art work on two places in the Atlanta market!
We visited the botanical gardens and CNN today.
We will head home in a couple of days.

Sketchbook Skool

I signed up for 6 weeks of Sketchbook Skool. These are the first two lessons.
The first one was to draw our toast, looking for all the little spots, holes, etc. I decided since it started July 4th , that I would use a flag napkin we had left over.
The second lesson was pick a subject and first make the shape of that subject with any color. Then using a pen of some sort, draw it in detail. I did 3 but still not real happy with them, but am posting the last one.  These geraniums are on our patio.  I left the color off the flowers, thinking the lesson was to just use one color.

Dawn's Early Light

This is late! I meant to post it July 4th. I did it in celebration of the 4th.  But...we can celebrate America and being an American each day. I know I take it for granted.  How is it that we were blessed enough to be born here? We could have been born in another country, looking towards America. I love America! My prayer is that we will pray more for our country.
I still have one or two spots left in my collage class coming up July 25-26th. grab a friend and join us!
