Santa Fe #11 is in honor of 9/11. This has been the hardest one to paint yet for some reason. I really struggled with it. I am still shocked at how many doors and gates are in Santa Fe and each and every one is so different!! This is 6x8 acrylic on gessobord.

Santa Fe #9
Here we are on Day 9. I am having problems getting good accurate color in my photos .
This is acrylic on gessobord. 5x7
I learned a valuable lesson on this one. I sketched it first with a brown pen.
It was not permanent, but evidently it soaked into the white gesso on the board.
I didn't have an under painting, so I had problems covering it up!

Santa Fe #7
Well, I have made it a week! This is Day 7. This gate was such a beauty.
I didn't do it justice.
Love the blues they have there!
This is 5x7 and available.

New Mexico Watercolor Society Show
I am excited that I was accepted in the New Mexico Watercolor Society show coming up in Oct. The juror was Linda Doll. 'Cement Man' and 'Tool Box' got in the show.
The cement man was here pouring cement and I ask if I could take a photo of him, and he was all grins! So I took pics with him and his dog, but just painted the top part. I wanted it to be about him and the cement mixer.
The Tool Box is from a photo I took in Canton TX. I did a sketch of it, then I did a small painting, and decided I would do a big watercolor. These are both poured paintings. Not a lot of brush work on them. They were fun to do.
The Cement Man is 22x28 framed, and the Tools are 24x24 framed.

Santa Fe #6
This summer Ken and I took our camper to Santa Fe, and parked outside the city limits. Each day we would go take photos, and drive around. One day we drove to Colorado. The KOA Camp there had the prettiest gate, and so I had to take several photos of it. I sketched it as well as painted it for my 30 day Challenge. It is 6x6 and painted in Acrylic.
