1940 Buick Special

I found this old car in Lovington, NM several years ago and am just now painting it.
It is done on hot press paper, w/ collaged phone book pages, drawn with charcoal, then painted with gouache. It gives it a neat texture. It is always a challenge, because you don't have a clue how it will work out.  Is always fun to keep learning new things, new techniques, and different ideas!
This will be 11x14 or larger matted and framed. It is available.

Roswell Art Show

The Roswell Fine Arts League show opened last night, and I got a sponsor award on my 'Garden Chair'  from Martha and Ivan Hall.  The business people there really support the artist that enter, and it is so nice that they do! So thank you Mr.and Mrs. Hall!
An Artcolony friend, Ellie Sethman entered her miniatures and she also won a sponsor award! I was excited for Ellie to win, since I encouraged her to enter! She didn't get to come to the show, since she lives in California!
If you are in the area, stop by and see the great show! It will be up for a month.

When Gas was Cheap!

When Gas was Cheap!

I decided to dig this out, since gas is on its way back up again! When Ken was in the Navy gas was .30 per gallon.   and we had trouble filling up our car back then! For a couple of years all we had was a small motorcycle, and it sure didn't take much to fill it up!

I can't remember where I took the photo of this old abandoned station, but I love shots like this!
It just speaks to me! Days long gone...when life seemed a little simpler?  Not so busy anyway.
This painting sold at one of our art shows.
