Woven Tulips

Woven Tulips
This was done with a really pale wash of gold acrylic first.
Not over the entire paper, just swished it here and there.
The gold looks really pretty, shining underneath the watercolor.
You have to really look to see it, but it gives it a glow.
After it was dry, I drew off my tulips. I did this on two sheets of paper the same size.
Each drawing the same size. They were painted one darker than the other one, using watercolor. after they dried I cut them up. One horizontally, and one vertically.
After they were cut, I started weaving them back together.
Some pieces have to be left out, to get it to match up right. I originally did this idea
when I had a failed painting, but needed a demo, so i painted several Tulips,
so I would have one already done. These really are a lot of fun to do,
plus it adds texture to your painting.
