We had our torn paper collage workshop in Lubbock, TX the 3rd and 4th, during the worst winter storm in over 20 years! I thought about canceling but there was one woman flying in from NM and so I just decided we would see if we could make it out on the street to get to the building.
the first day was great. It was 0 degrees with a wind chill factor way below that. The next morning I headed out to the place, and when I got there, I saw that the snow was wet and melted in the yard and driveway, and it was 7 degrees...so I was very suspicious! sure enough, I could hear water gushing when I got out of the car. The building was almost ankle deep in water.
Thank goodness, one of the sweet ladies there offered us her building. She had an extra room with tables, and was just right down the street, so our workshop was very successful. Thanks Jane!
We had some very creative ladies that seemed to enjoy 'tearing' up paper!
