Confetti Flower

I had a watercolor I wasn't happy with so I worked it over with some gouache and collage! It is one of my favorites now.  It is in my Confetti collection now.  I am having a 2020 Calendar printed of 12 of them.  It was hard to choose which ones to use.  They can be framed if anybody wanted to do a small grouping of them.

Autumn

Another hand painting.  This one was very hard. I’m sure they are not right but have to
Move on.  We are working on exaggerated hands so that why so much emphasis on them.
For some reason this reminded me of falling leaves while
I worked on it, so I named it Autumn.

The Dancer

I am still working on the Hand online class. This is the second painting, using 2 hands.  The instructor made hers with a bathing suit and big legs, but  i turned mine into a dancer  It was such fun. I started by drawing on my 100 lb paper, then I went over it with white gesso.  After that was dry I used a large alphabet stencil that I love. I painted over it with the turquoise and purple.
Then from there I drew my figure, and then painted using acrylics and a 2" brush.
I only used 3-4 colors.  White, buff, flesh, red oxide and a little red.  The background is purple and turquoise.
I drew the image with a charcoal pencil, then painted with out using any water. Just  a moist brush and paint. This was so much fun.  It is big. 20x26.

Hand Online Class

I love hands. I always look at peoples hands.  I believe they tell a story.
I saw a class offered. Just 6 sessions and I have really enjoyed it. The only thing is they are done with acrylics and I hate to wash brushes.

SWA Show

'Thumbs Up' was accepted into the SWA show in Ft.Worth.  It is the Society of Watercolor Artist.
I am excited and honored to included, esp with a portrait!  This cute young man was our waiter in Albuquerque NM last year.  I asked if if I could photo him, and he gave me the Thumbs up sign.
He seemed thrilled I wanted his photo.

New Work

I have been working on some portraits as well as some other ideas.  I have already done a paper collage of this girl from Memphis but I wanted to do a watercolor of her. So far I have named it 'Memphis' like the other one until I can think of something else!
The clothes line is a painting from a clothes line I saw in Italy. The title is 'Full Moon'
THe bottom one is 'Purple Cactus' painted using watercolor and gouache.
