I start out with an idea and put down shapes of color , splattering some along the way.
When its dry, I use permanent ink and a fountain pen and draw flowers and leaves, and Whatever I want for a vase.
Then I start building the image , painting some gouache on the flowers, splattering, and painting the background with black gouache. When that is dry I use scrapbook paper and put small pieces of paper in just a few places. I have had a lot of fun just drawing and painting and not worrying about realistic pieces.
Step one you can see how loose this is. I just used a brush and let the paint bleed into itself.
Step two I drew flowers onto the colors with ink.
Step three I added gouache splatters, and little squares., some shape to the vase with watercolor.
Step four was the last step and it is some collage.
