30 Day Challenge finsihed!

PAINT 30 PAINTINGS IN 30 DAYS

This makes 2-30 Day Challenges I have done this year. So I have finished 60 small paintings this year already. I have sold 2 of them. The rest are available. This really pushed and frustrated me, but am glad that I went ahead and did it. This Friday I start another 6 week Sketchbook Skool.
Saturday I am teaching a sketchbook class. Am really looking forward to that.
Thanks for Following along with the 30 days!

30 Day Challenge Over!

Now if I will just keep going!  It has been harder this time than the first. I think because I did mostly watercolors, and they are harder to paint than oil or acrylic. (for me anyway)  I had fun experimenting with the huge brush and ink. This has been good because I have come up with some new ideas, and hopefully I will paint more.  As with last time, I wondered at times WHY did I do this challenge but when it's all said and done, I am glad I did. It pushed me and challenged me.  Actually one of the hardest things for me is finding what I want to paint.

Day 19-25

This is the 3rd week. It is nearly finished. I have had to struggle but glad I stuck it out.
The Buffalo is an oil, and the 2 bikes and the fish are acrylics. the others are Watercolor.
all of these are available from me or Daily Paintworks.

Day 29-Waiting to Hear -30 paintings in 30 days

Waiting to Hear
6x6 Oil
$100 + Shipping

I did this scene from Brownfield, TX in watercolor a few years ago. I love this scene!
I saw it one day several years ago  driving thru town and it just grabbed me, I turned around and went back for another look and a photo of it. It spoke volumes to me.  On here the sky looks a little strong or something.  I have found that taking a photo of an oil painting is not as easy as watercolors because they are shiny, and not so true to the correct color.

Day 28-Gone Fishing

Gone Fishing
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 + shipping

I love the old pick-ups! This one is in Lovington, NM.  For some reason, it reminded me of some of the old vehicles you see parked along the lakes in East Texas. I just pretend that there is water on the other side of the trees with lots of fish ready to be caught.

Day 27-Big Daddy

Big Daddy
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 + Shipping

While we were in Wyoming, we found this herd of Elk. There were about 12 females, and this one
'Big' male.  He was moving them across the road, and it was so fascinating to watch him.  He called to them several times, and they started moving. They crossed the highway, and he waited until they were all across then he crossed.  It was a beautiful sight. He never went ahead of them, he was a gentleman and let them go first.  This is Day 27! Three more, and the challenge will be over. I have enjoyed it, but it has challenged me and kept me going.  I am glad I jumped in and participated.

Flower Pedal-er Day 26

Flower Pedal-er
6x6 Oil Painting
$100+$8 shipping

Today, I am just barely making it!  We had birthday lunch for our son and granddaughter, and when they went home, we had to have our Sunday nap!  Anyway, I can see some problems with it, but here is the yellow bike! Now is time to worry about Day 27!
This Month has gone by pretty fast!

Day 25-Quilt and Tulips

Quilt and Tulips
6x6 Oil on Gessobord
$100+$8 shipping

Tulips and Petunias are my favorite flowers, and I have done several tulips with quilt paintings. This is the first Oil. In the photo they were orange and Yellow, but I just couldn't pull that off! Maybe because the under painting was orange, and it was hard to see, so I just went with the red.
Only 5 more days in the challenge. It definitely has been a challenge! Working with Oil paint is so foreign to me, not to mention so messy!

Day 24- White Cosmos

White Cosmos
6x6 Oil on Gessobord
$100+$8 shipping

Day 24! One more week! It has gone pretty fast, but has become increasingly hard to come up with something exciting to paint every single day. I tried to get photos ahead so I wouldn't have to search.
I got photos of these white cosmos in Seattle, and of course I didn't do it justice.  Flowers are my least favorite thing to paint, but I need to do more.

Day 22-Swan 2

Swan 2
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 + Shipping

Another swan painting...had problems with a name! Usually I can name them before they are even painted. This was another photo from Wyoming.  The water was so pretty there, clear, and sparkling clean. (or it looked like it!)

Day 21-Red Bike

Red Bike
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 + shipping

Anybody that knows me knows I love bikes! I love to ride, but haven't in a very long time...since I don't have one. Plus there is no place to ride around the farm. I take photos of them everywhere we go! I have done some in watercolor as well as bike collages.

Day 20- Lunch

Lunch
6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100+$8 shipping

Another Buffalo Close up.  Three are probably enough, but who knows? I may find another photo that I like! It has become another challenge to keep finding stuff. Thank goodness these are small.
I am getting a little faster.  I am also working on a big collage, that is nearly finished too.

Day 19-Swan

6x6 oil on gessobord
$100+$8 Shipping

When we were in Wyoming, on one of our daily searches for photo ops, we found these beautiful swans.  There is no way I can do it justice, but here he is anyway.  There was a pair, but for the 6x6 I just put the one.  They are so graceful and so pretty! I couldn't think of a name for this! Normally I don't have a problem.

Day 18-Free Ride

6x6 oil on gessobord
$100+$8 shipping

More Wyoming Buffalo...I didn't even see the little bird on his back until I got home and looked at my photos. I wondered about calling it 'Friends' but decided that 'Free Ride' fit it too. I love the buffaloes! They are so majestic, and carefree!

Day 17-Wyoming Buffalo

6x6 Oil on gessobord
$100 +$8 shipping

While we were in Wyoming we saw Buffalo everywhere! They were just standing around grazing as if they didn't have a care in the world. Such big awesome animals!

Day 16-Summer Time

6x6 Oil on gessobord
Summer Time
$100+$8 shipping

I took this photo in Plains a couple years ago.  The Hollyhocks
were so pretty growing up around the mailbox. I really didn't
know what to name this so decided Summer Time would be ok.

Lubbock Arts Festival
