Old Blue-Day 5

I love these old blue and rusty trucks. I am still struggling with

the color, not being used to oils, but I am going to keep challenging

myself, and try to learn. It is so much harder than watercolors!

Christmas Time-Demo

I was invited to demo for the Denver City, TX art Association, and since it is already December, I decided to do a Christmas theme. I love doing them. It is tomorrow night (Dec. 3)
I went through my old vehicle file, and picked out an old truck, then I cut away all the background, drew in a Christmas Tree and a wreath.  Here are the steps.

Old Yeller

I found this old truck in Brownfield, TX and had to stop and photo it! It was orange and caught my eye going through town.  I intended for mine to be orange-y but it ended up yellow, and I liked it!
It is only 4x6".

Green and Yellow Truck

This old truck was in O'Donnell TX.  I got several photos there when I went to visit a good friend.
This is mixed media using the old phone book pages.  The page automatically made me a license plate. I just left it, not painting anything over it. I enjoy working over the pages, and letting some show through.

Roswell NM Show

 Roswell, NM has a juried show each year, and this  year, I had 3 accepted.
This old truck, is from a photo I took last summer at a friends ranch.
It is called:

'Elegance is an Attitude'

My Garden Chair, was painted from our back yard.
we have 2 chairs and a table in the back yard, and I used it for this painting. It is watercolor but I drew in a back ground, and painted in an under-painting first.

Their shows are always so nice. A lot of people come to the opening.  They also have an awesome miniature show with entries as far away as England!
