Denver City Press newspaper

Kristian Roberts from the Denver City Press ask me if she could run this in the paper, and I was thrilled. I sent out emails to a lot of people in my address book, because i was so excited that my work was finally on Kohls website.   The paper came today, and I was excited, so had to share it on my blog!
They still aren't in the store in Lubbock, TX but maybe soon! here are the links to view them online

Torn Paper Collage

I'm getting ready for the collage workshop that will be here in Plains, July 22,23rd.  I have a couple of repeat students, so I wanted something different for them to do. This was a lot of fun to do. I have a couple spots left in the workshop, if you are interested in coming.

'Rock'n Roll -M Cow'
30x40 stretched canvas

I started this commission in June, and it took a while to get her done. It has a lot of family photos in the background. It was a lot of fun, and quite a challenge.  It is 30"x40".  The first photo is in her living room.
This was done from one of their cows. She was number 10!  The -M  (Bar M) is their brand, and it is on it in several places. This will be at home in O'Donnell, TX.

The Glory of Cowboy'n

'The Glory of Cowboy'n'

I have been working on a commission, and so I haven't taken the time to post this, or anything else. But I did
rework the boots, and am calling it quits. I would have rather done them in color.
I was working towards a black and white show, but backed out on it due to the rules.
This is 16x20 on gallery wrapped canvas.

The Glory of Cowboy'n

The Glory of Cowboy'n
  ( A Work in Progress)

A few years ago, I did these boots in pencil, and wanted to try my hand at the torn paper collage technique using only black and white.  For me, Using just black and white is very hard. I can see where I need to make a few changes. I may even pop in some color somewhere. It may need some red. It does have a tiny bit of blues.  I found the name in a western magazine. It was the title of 'something'.  I don't read them, I just tear them up!

Southwestern Watercolor Society Show

My Garden Chair was selected to be in the SWS show in September. The show will be in Plano, TX.
That means I will get my Signature Status. I am so excited. I have worked very hard for a lot of years, trying to get in.  I feel very blessed.
For those who don't know about signature status:  They are all different on the amount of paintings that have to be selected.  I got my signature status with Wyoming watercolor society a few years ago.  It means when I sign my painting I can put SWS by my signature , so now I can put WyWS and SWS both. There are 2 other societies I have been trying to get in, but it just takes a long time.

Lubbock Arts Festival
