We were coming through Snyder Texas and I shot a photo of this old building through the window. When I saw all the electrical lines and boxes, I had to laugh to myself! It was so funny looking.
I sketched it and liked the way the sketch looked so i drew it off on 1/2 sheet of watercolor paper.
I used the pouring technique, but wasn't happy with it. It was so dark, drab and muddy, so I got out my gouache and started painting, to brighten it up. I like it now. At least it has some color to it.

Polka Dot
This past Friday was our monthly paint day, and I am always trying to come up with something fun and different so I decided on cups. I painted it, and then I had the students to design their own backgrounds, cups, etc. It was a fun day. The polka dots are very tedious but fun anyway.
I have it listed on Daily Paintworks and they chose it to be the FB pick of the day. That was fun!
It is for sale there too.

This is their work, along with mine. I didn't get one photo, she left before I got them done.
I know they will all be really cute when they are finished. The middle one with the 3 colors of cups, is a new student. This is her 2nd lesson! She did an amazing job!

Time for Work
Another Poured painting. Trying to get the leather to look like leather is fun with this technique.
I was happy with the turn out of this painting. It will be 22x28 framed. I have had trouble naming it, and it may change at some point.

Fringe Benefits
This is a painting that I started and was not happy with it.
Today I decided to see what would happen if I used the pouring technique on it.
So I started masking out areas and using these colors from Cheap Joes.
Quin Gold
Joe's Red
Joe's Blue
cobalt blue
Joe's yellow
indigo
It is a quarter sheet which will make it 16x20 framed.
This is from a photo I took at the neighbor's branding.

Out West
Another new cowboy boot. This is 6x12 on stretched canvas. I am still using magazine pages and tearing them up to form my image.
It is a little addictive and is hard on your thinking! Seeing all the colors and textures in the magazines.
If interested in any collage workshops let me know.

Step'n Out
I am still working on new collages so that I will have some new work to take to my workshops.
This boot was fun to do. It is 12x12 stretched canvas that is 2" wide.
I painted the flowers with acrylic, and the rest is magazine pages.
I love the cowboy/cowgirl boots! I still want a pair with flowers on them.
The workshops coming up are March 8-10 in Midland, TX
and here at my studio April 29-30.
