Dillman's Art Workshops in Wisconsin-June 2019

I am so thrilled to be included in the 2019 calendar of workshops.  I will be teaching sketching/drawing and watercolor. The description is below.  I would love to have you come and join us in June 2019!  Go to Dillmans.com and click on workshops 2019 and click on any artist to see the description, dates, and prices.

 Description:
Using your photos, pen, ink, watercolor, gouache and/or casein in the comfort of the studio you will create wonderful memory books that you and your family will treasure forever. This workshop is great for those wanting to create a sketchbook habit, or those struggling with sketching and drawing. Especially beginner sketchers. Your sketchbook style will become like your handwriting, your own personal mark. Suzy believes anybody can draw with practice, just like learning to write

Being married to a farmer, living on the family farm in west Texas, Suzy has been painting for 30 years working in pastel, pencil, watercolor, gouache, acrylic and collage.  She didn’t attend schools that taught art. Learning on her own in her backyard studio has allowed her to teach what she loves and enjoys, in Texas, New Mexico, Italy and in 2020 Poland and Italy. Her favorite thing is keeping a daily sketchbook, and nostalgic and patriotic art. She has won numerous awards and teaches monthly watercolor classes, workshops using watercolor, collages and sketching. She has been in 3 of the North Light Incite mixed media books, as well as the Sketch Book Magazine when it was being published.
Christopher Cross, the singer, purchased one of her watercolor paintings to use on his Christmas album. She is signature members of SWS, AOT, SWA, NMWS, and WYWS. Affiliate member of AWS and NWS.

Karla's Cabo Sketchbook

Keri and I took Karla (granddaughter) to Cabo for her graduation in 2013, and I am just finishing her sketchbook from our trip.  I found the sketchbook while there. It had gray paper and the ugly man on the front! I have never seen so many skeletons!  It was fun to do but i started it and then stuck back, so this year I got it back out and finished it.  I enjoyed reliving our fun trip.

Follow your senses in Tuscany

Last November I was invited to go to Tuscany and teach sketching.  I was so shocked and blown away that I would get to go. My daughter and sister also went with me.  As well as some good friends and students!  It was such fun. We had such wonderful experiences.  We soaked it all in!  From the whole fish on our plates to the Limoncello each night!
I took so many photos.  I didn't get to sketch as much as I had planned because of the wonderful trips they took us on each day.  Here are some I have done. I did some while there and some at home from my photos.  I am grateful for the opportunity!

My Favorite Sketchbook

Another week of sketching photos from my phone. I just go through my phone and pick out what looks interesting to draw.  I really love the Handbook sketchbooks. I have filled 10 of them, and just ordered 2 more.  There are a lot of pages so it takes a little longer to fill them up.

Down near the bottom, the church and clothesline were done by adding the real photo and painting  around it.  That is a lot of fun, and we did this in a workshop in Ropes Texas.
I will be teaching in Ropes again in Feb.2019, but it will be Collage.
Watercolor in Georgetown, TX in April.
