Brownfield Texas Art Show

My old truck that I named, 'The Red Door' won a 1st place in the Brownfield art show this past week. I also sold a collage of a zebra...' Just be Yourself'
Its always a nice 3 day show. There were a lot of entries this year. The Best in Show definitely deserved to win. It was a beautiful graphite/charcoal.

New Interior

Here is another Steering Wheel painting. I love looking in these old vehicles. I have a couple more that I plan on painting. This was an old car that I found at the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The Red and White interior really grabbed my attention, so naturally I had to take pictures while nobody was around. This is transparent watercolors with a little bit of white gouache.
The image size is 14x18.

Summer Fence

Last year while driving around in Myrtle Beach, we found a house with this beautiful fence covered with flowers. This is 9x12 Acrylic, but am not sure about the acrylics yet. They are messy, and you have to keep putting them out, and I had it all over me! I still love the transparent Watercolors and the collages. I really love oil paintings where all the brush strokes show, and so that is why I was trying the acrylic. I am allergic to Oil paint.

Orange Umbrella

This acrylic is on a 9x12 canvas. It was my first torn paper collage and did not like it. I painted over it with acrylic and put it up for a year, and then got it down to do this painting on, so there is a lot of texture behind the paint. All the umbrellas and chairs where we were were all blue, but with blue sky, blue water, etc. the chair had to be a different color. I have been thinking about going back and putting a green or yellow towel hanging off the chair or the life guard stand. I still need something a lot bigger for my bathroom, so back to the drawing board tomorrow.
I also have some umbrellas and chairs that are multicolored, so that will probably be next.

Summer Time

While in Myrtle Beach last summer, I took so many photos of the beach! I loved it there, and would love to go back someday. I am not a swimmer but it was so relaxing there. Everything and everybody is so laid back.

I am changing out the color in my bathroom, and found a shower curtain that I just loved, Probably doesn't fit a farm house, but it is called 'Beach Bum' and it has beach scenes, with blues, greens, oranges, browns, reds, etc. so I thought I would paint some of my pictures to go with it.
I may go through and pick one out to print it also.
It is a 6x6 square, and when I brought it in, and hung it, I realized it is too small, but I will add something else with it. It is acrylic, on canvas. I normally don't do acrylics, but I wanted it done this way. Who Knows? I may even do a torn paper collage to go with it.

Blue Plate

I was going through some of my older work, and found this watercolor on Yupo paper.
I framed this to hang diagonally and it is square. The yupo paper is hard to keep smooth when you are painting, but fun to work with.
I set this up, with some new dishes we had, along with some spring tulips that I bought somewhere, and I love to paint stripes. I used to paint them a lot, but lately have been onto other things!
