Demo for Yoakum County Art Association
I got to do the demo last night for our art asc. here in Plains, and it was a lot of fun.
I have been a member since the late 80's! I think I have held every office there is! When I joined I knew nothing about art except that I loved it, and wanted to paint so bad. I had always drawn and doodled....always staying busy 'making or creating' something. I am sad to say that several of the women who were awesome artists that helped me so much, are no longer with us. I learned a lot from those women who had been right where I was at that time. They were always so encouraging! I hope that I can be a mentor also, and help those who are just starting. I love to share whatever I have learned.
This poor zebra has a ways to go, but I will keep on, until I think it will be ok! Maybe I will post him when he or she is finished.
I will be in Clovis, NM tomorrow night, doing a demo. Think I need to start something else, since this poor guy is not looking so good!

New Book is finally here!
I am excited to get in another book by Chris Unwin. This is an awesome book, and I am so very honored to be in it with so many wonderful artists! Some I hope to meet someday and some that I have watched for years! This is the cover...a painting by Chris.
This Painting has always been one of my favorites. It belongs to a friend in Lubbock, TX. It started out as an experiment. I drew flowers on plain white watercolor paper, painted them and then drew the zebra's over the flowers, trying to get them in the right spot. It was fun to paint!
It got 'nearly' a 2 page spread!
The Rodeo Clown was one of my first collages that I did.
It also belongs someone in Lubbock, TX. This has some acrylics in the back ground, and some in the shadow areas.
I have a few of these to sell, if you are interested in buying one, email me and I will send you the info. I will sign it and mail it to you as soon as possible.

My Phone case
Ok...call me Crazy! Why is it that IPhones have all the cute cases, and Android doesn't? Somebody posted Iphones with palettes painted on them, and I wrote to the company, and they don't do other brands..so...I painted my own!
I took my phone out of the PINK case. I did NOT like the pink but that was all they had when I got my phone. I drew off the back and figured out what I wanted on it and made a little sketch. I then painted the case with white acrylic. Let it dry, then drew off my squares for color, and my paint brush. Leaving the top space for my signature. Then I varnished it. I had a lot of problems getting my signature! Still isn't like I like it, but using a sharpie, is best to get it first if you can. This is just fun to have a different looking case. You could put anything you wanted. I did have a white daisy painted on it for a couple of months. (on the pink)
If you have a boring phone case, try painting it! Or send it to me, and I will paint it for you. In November, I may have a snow man on it! The one draw back, is you can't clean it with alcohol. The alcohol will remove acrylic paint, etc. I have even thought of doing a torn paper image on it! My mind runs rampant when I get a new idea!

Trip to Seattle Washington
Wow! It has been a long time since I posted! I have had a lot going
on. My daughter, Keri and I went to Seattle on the 13th, for a week.
We had a blast, and saw a lot of pretty flowers, water and boats! One
day we drove into Canada and had lunch at Granville Island. It was such a
fun place! Not to mention so beautiful. We even found an art store!
OPUS. I have seen their ads, or catalogs, so of course I had to go in
and buy something! We went to the Chihuly Garden...and it was
breathtaking. Dale Chihuly is a very talented man, with a lot of
Vision. We also visited an art store that I order from...Daniel Smith. Of course I had to buy a few supplies there too!
Draw Bridge Sign...Didn't get a good photo of the Bridge!
In the Space Needle
Keri
beautiful Flowers at Pikes Place Market
Granville Island, in Canada
Keri at the Locks. It was her favorite place. It is where the boats come in from Lake Washington and go into the Ocean at Pugent Sound. (I think!) there was 2 gates. they would come into one, and the water would disappear, and they would sink down about 30 feet, then they opened another gate and the water came in and lifted them up to sea level. was very interesting. The men working there had on harnesses and they were tied to the fence. That would be pretty scary!
This is at Pikes Place Market. I think it is a beautiful shot!
Going into Canada
Another sunset
At the Locks. This little tug boat was pulling 2 long things.....and he was on his way to pick up gravel and sand. The guy hung out the window and talked to us.
I love any place I can get good photos! and I think this is a good one!
AND this one! I love.....for some weird reason!
This is the gum wall. ICK! that is ALL gum. and it was a long hallway just covered!
This is another of my favorites. I got a new lens before we left, and am so thankful I did. I think I got some really good photos!!
This is in Canada...all the boats.
More of Dale Chihuly's glass. It was just so beautiful!
This was the entrance as you walked in! just beautiful glass everywhere!
This glass piece was outside. I guess they don't have hail storms there!
At Daniel Smiths Art Store. Wow What a place! they had stuff I have never seen in the catalogs! Was a lot of fun there too!

Fall is here!
Boston Church
Since Fall is here, I thought I would post this church, that I painted a while back. The churches in Maine and Massachusetts are so pretty! They loom up to the blue sky, and the beautiful red and orange trees just make them even whiter! It is such a beautiful place to visit, and I hope to go back someday!
