Lucca Italy

The day we went into Lucca there was a little shop, with this HUGE tree over it, and the lime green caught my eye.  I am just now getting it sketched. We are going back to Tuscany in Septmeber 2020 if you want to join us! Now's the time to start saving.
I drew this with a 551 Fude fountain pen in a 5x8 Handbook Sketchbook.  I painted with watercolor and gouache.

New faces

I really like drawing faces. I have filled a couple sketchbooks with them, trying to improve! The bottom 3 are done on my ipad with an apple pencil.  I used procreate app. There is so much to that app and it will take forever to learn all of it.
the first one, is pencil with her eyes painted.
The 3rd man was done using two different inks. One waterproof and one not. I wanted it to bleed to make shadows and I wanted some hard lines so I used the waterproof for that part.

Some of My Favorite Subjects!

These are sketches from my branding pictures.
I am still going through them and enjoying them all over again. I LOVE saddles, bridles, spurs, etc. so I have enjoyed doing these.
They are done with the Lexington Gray ink, with some Tombow marker.
The second saddle is just with the pen/ink.

The Fence Post at the bottom has some
'Elegant' Writer with water. That is where the color comes from.
The Elegant writer is for calligraphy, but it makes awesome shadows.

75 Day Sketch Challenge-Day 21

Brenda Swenson, A sketch artist does this 75 day Sketch Challenge, and I decided to join in.
I started it Oct.14th, Using ink and pen only. No pencil or erasers. That is hard for me because I love my pencil! AND eraser!  Starting with just pen is very intimidating, but I am on day 21 and have enjoyed it, after the first week!
The cotton and pens were sketched from life. The flowers and pumpkins were drawn from photos.
I did the fountain pens when I saw that it was National Fountain Pen day! What a funny thing to have.
These are not in exact order because this blog thing doesn't put them on in the order you pick them! and I haven't figured out how to move them.
